The University Hospital Batumi Medcenter and the Union of Nurses have formed a strategic partnership with the objective of advancing the nursing profession, enhancing healthcare standards, and strengthening the role of nurses as vital members of multidisciplinary clinical teams

The Union of Nurses is a prestigious non-profit professional organization with both national and international recognition. It plays an essential role in driving healthcare reforms, setting educational standards, fostering research initiatives, and providing legal protection and professional development opportunities for nursing professionals.

Collaboration with Union of Nurses: A Commitment to Excellence 

This partnership with the Union of Nurses highlights Medcenter’s commitment to not only adhering to existing healthcare standards but also contributing to their evolution. The collaboration offers several key advantages, including:

  • Expert guidance in the development of internal clinical care protocols;
  • Platforms for knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals;
  • Modern training models based on evidence-based practices;

Initial Collaborative Initiative: The Nursing Council

The first initiative of this partnership, the establishment of the Nursing Council, has created a platform for the discussion of innovative approaches to nursing education, professional development, clinical reasoning in care, and the implementation of ethical standards in patient interactions. 

The next steps in this partnership include:

  • Launching joint training and certification programs for nursing professionals;
  • Engaging in international research collaborations;
  • Preparing the next generation of nursing leaders;
  • Training of teachers in the field - Implementation and introduction of TOT - Training of Trainers programs;
  • Training Experts in the Field and Establishing a Chamber of Experts with International Partners.

This partnership represents a significant step toward a sustainable, multidisciplinary, and patient-centered healthcare model. It underscores the indispensable role of nurses alongside physicians in diagnostics, patient care, and clinical decision-making, ultimately contributing to the improvement of healthcare outcomes.

It is noteworthy that at this stage, within the framework of the project "For Future Professionals", Union of Nurses has already carried out the retraining of 90 field teachers, 35 in Tbilisi and 55 field teachers in Batumi. At this stage, the implementation of field teacher and leader training programs continues throughout Georgia.
